The Team
Shaune Eldred
Shaune Eldred is President and co-owner of Athene Corporate Services Inc.
Shaune was Vice-President, Corporate Services, for Minerva Technology, Inc. until the company's sale in 1998. She joined Minerva as Office Manager in 1989, became Controller and Manager of Corporate Services in 1991, then in 1994 was promoted to VP Corporate Services. In that role she was a member of the four-person Executive Committee. After Minerva Technology was sold Shaune continued to work with the newly formed company, xwave Solutions, developing standardized human resource and client contracts.
During over 25 years in the finance and admin sector, Shaune has been involved in a variety of different industries, working with businesses ranging from small startups to large multinationals. She has experience in a wide variety of business functions including accounting and finance, internal audit, human resources, administration, and contract development and administration, both at the working level and as a manager and senior executive leading corporate service teams.
Shaune has been active for many years in the world of competitive skating and thoroughbred racing. For two years she chaired the Ice Magic show at the Calgary Winter Festival. She also served on the Board of The Glencoe Club Skating Committee and has spent numerous hours volunteering at various skating shows and competitions.
Shaune is a Certified Simply Accounting Consultant. She attended Mount Royal College and the University of Calgary, majoring in Finance and Economics, and during her career, has taken numerous additional University courses in Finance, Education, Law, Management and Psychology.
Revett Eldred
Revett Eldred is Chairman and co-owner of Athene Corporate Services Inc.
Revett founded Minerva Technology Inc. in 1985 and sold it twelve years later. The company competed effectively and profitably in a highly competitive business with traditionally low margins and very few barriers to entry. Twice ranked among Canada's 50 fastest-growing businesses, the company was a 1991 winner of the prestigious Canada Award for Business Excellence, the country's highest award for quality. Minerva was rated by Microsoft as one of that company's three best partners worldwide and twice won awards for best computer applications developed using Microsoft products. Revett personally was once ranked Calgary Business Person of the Year and was profiled as one of ten successful immigrants in the Canadian government pavilion at the Seville World Fair.
Prior to founding Minerva, Revett had a 20-year career as a programmer, system designer, project manager, and line manager. He worked as co-developer of the control software for the world's first automated goldmine. He developed numerous business applications. He managed a project that automated and cross-indexed the records of many Canadian museums and libraries. He was a member of the Canadian Computer-Communications Task Force whose report, Branching Out, set the stage for Canadian telecommunications policy for the 1980's and led to the implementation of DataPac, the world's first commercial packet switched digital data network.
As a resource for The Executive Committee, Revett has taught more than 1,000 Canadian, American, and Australian executives how to plan for effective computing and information management in a small and mid-sized business environment. He was for many years a member of the Computer Industry Advisory Committee of the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and was a regular guest lecturer in the University of Calgary's MBA program. Revett was the first Entrepreneur in Residence at Calgary Technologies, and continues to be an active mentor in the University of Calgary's Haskayne Business School MBA Program.
Revett attended the Royal Air Force College and the University of Birmingham in England and later graduated from Harvard Business School's Owner-President Management Program. He lives with his wife Shaune just outside Calgary.
Nancy Bennett
Nancy Bennett is Athene's Executive Centre Manager at One Executive Place.
Nancy joined the Athene group in 2008, bringing with her over 20 years of experience in the business community. Her unique blend of experiences includes a legal diploma and legal assistant experience, business administration responsible for creating and enforcing policies and leases, property management, and involvement in a large capital expansion project.
Nancy owned a dance studio for several years, turning it from a lagging business into a successful venture.
Over the years she has managed several offices and learned promotional material set-up, editing, and computer and software training, which have all worked together to bring her to this position as Centre Manager at One Executive Place. She is also a member of Athene's management team.
Nancy's caring spirit is evident in her extensive volunteer experience which includes former executive member and Vice President of Dance Alive Association, communications director for a capital expansion campaign, and numerous committees. Nancy, her husband, and three children are all very active in their community and local baseball and soccer programs. To relax and relieve stress, Nancy enjoys singing in a local choir and ensemble, and playing piano.
Kristin Weisenburger
Kristin Weisenburger is Athene's Executive Centre Manager at Garrison Green.
Kristin is responsible for managing and maintaining the centre at a five-star level; for handling queries from potential clients and managing centre leasing and renewals; for monitoring leases and handling renewals; for programming our computerized phone system according to individual client needs; and for providing daily support and services to Athene clients. She is a member of the company's management team.
In 2004, Kristin joined Athene as an intern working toward her CGA designation. While working toward her Accounting degree, Kristin took numerous Information Technology, Finance and Management courses at the University of Calgary, SAIT, Mount Royal College and Athabasca University.
Kristin spent many years as a competitive figure skater, which has led to a strong desire to achieve excellence in everything she does. In 2007, she assumed the role of Executive Centre Manager for our One Executive Place centre, and has now taken on the challenge of opening up our new centre in Garrison Green.
Kristin places great emphasis on customer service management – always working to ensure our clients' needs are top priority. She lives in Calgary with her husband, Kirk.
Jeff Kovitz, QC
Jeff Kovitz is the Legal & Strategic Advisor for Athene Corporate Services Inc.
He is the President of TouchSend Corporation which specializes in helping businesses develop strategy in the context of current and future Government Policy directions. TouchSend Corporation also develops custom software, and has done so for Microsoft Corporation, Intel Corporation, SAP, Petro-Canada, Alliance Pipeline and others.
A leading Canadian expert in the use of technology in politics, Jeff has developed sophisticated techniques for polling, tracking, call center management, as well as voter identification. He has developed and implemented software for political leadership contests and elections throughout Canada.
Jeff has served on the Boards of Alberta Theatre Projects, Calgary Accessible Housing Society, Canadian Psychiatric Research Foundation, the Goodwill Industries of Alberta Advisory Board, the Provincial Court Nominating Committee for the Province of Alberta, the Expert Advisory Panel on Publicly Funded Healthcare in the Province of Alberta, and the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede Grandstand Attractions Committee and is a Governor of the Banff Centre.
Jeff holds degrees in Science and Law from the University of Toronto, was admitted to the Bar in Alberta in 1973, and was awarded a Queen's Counsel from the Province of Alberta in 1990. He is associated with the law firm of Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP in Calgary in the areas of Government Relations, Public Policy and Client Relations, and is an active member of the Law Society of Alberta.
Jeff has four children and resides in Calgary.
